Sewing on Cards -- I wanna try this...

I just read the most amazing tutorial on Julia Stainton's blog, Belle Papier {Pretty Paper} , about machine stitching on cards. Wowzers -- Great Work, Gal! Y'all should read it.

Have any of you ever sewn on cards? If anyone is reading this and can offer encouragement, lemme know. I have this small hand-held machine I was gifted, but I don't think I am even going to try it.

I wanna find an inexpensive machine to try and just see how it works. Straight stitching and zig-zag is all a person could ask for in the short term, I think... but I don't wanna pay $150 or more for something that I won't use.

Can anyone offer me some thoughts?

As I'm sure you've noticed, I sew on a lot of cards. My daughters bought me a Shark euro pro at Target for about $120. It is fabulous and has tons of different stitches. Nice machine!

I Love to sew on cards!
I just really do not like to get my cabinet machine out for a couple of cards. I'm hoping for a Janome Sew Mini for card-making. You can find these through Hancock fabrics ... and they run sales from time to time. I look forward to having it out when I'm in the sewing frame of mind!

I have a machine and I do use it NOW and THEN....I bet if you looked in some thrift shops you could find a good useful machine...just bring some paper, some thread and be sure to try it out BEFORE you buy! the older machines are soooooo much better built than the new ones.....and this way if you find you love and are using it all the time on your cards you know it would be worth investing in the newer ones with the billion stitch types! LOL :)
